The workshop participants received training on the critical details necessary for export operations to Europe markets. This include an in-depth understanding of both tariff and non-tariff measures, as well as EU's decisions, directives, and regulations, along with insights into wood product categories with high export potential.
As additional, the workshop clarified product-specific requirements, such as EU procedures of fumigation when it comes to wooden packaging to mitigate pest transmission and other packaging-related risks.
This guidance give benefits for both newcomers and experienced SMEs, and it offers a valuable resource for those entering export markets for the first time.
An increasing demand for timber products in Europe offers numerous opportunities for Laos, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, the report said.
